Looks like the “terrible weapon” the Brit cops found was one designed to comply with UK knife control. The tip is deliberately machined down to be somewhat blunt, unlike the chef’s knife I own, bought at Walmart, that has a definitely sharp tip that could, far more easily, be used for stabbing.

Makeshift bayonet is actually a makeshift spear, and a rather crude one at that.I've seen better built Prison Shanks than this “ terrifying bayonet”
