Do homosexuals still blame Reagan for the spread of AIDS?
Back in the day, they balmed Reagan for being slow to react to the spread of AIDS, and for not spending enough on AIDS research.
They did not blame their own people for engaging in the known risky behaviors which spread AIDS. Instead they blamed Reagan for not doing enough to fight AIDS.
I’m sure there is a name for this type of deflection. We see the same thing going on now, with the liberals blaming the NRA for school shootings.
You bet, and a whole lot more folks than just Reagan.
Needed a campaign for “just say no to butt sex.”
Instead they took nikes Just do it and crammed the logo up their poop schutes.
They blamed Reagan ... and then they died.
But not before wrapping the disease that killed them in the banner of civil rights and infecting even more people as a direct consequence.
That’s what is so amazing about the whole thing, blaming Reagan. He was a cultural traditionalist who came to that belief over time but was a product of the west coast entertainment industry, he and Nancy had many gay friends including Rock Hudson until the day he died, they were there. Whether or not they approved of his sexual behavior was not a matter of public discussion but they clearly loved and cared for the guy. No one had a clue what was causing the disease back then, I recall a pretty strong belief that so-called club drugs were doing it, cocaine, amyl nitrate and such. For militant homosexual activists and leftist political hacks to make such a bizarre claim is a testament to Reagan’s enduring legacy and strong influence even today. They’ve just got to slime him.
There certainly is a name for this sort of denial and deflection and it’s Biblical. It’s called a reprobate mind. They’ve been given over to it.
