THC just happens to be the same active drug in both.

The only synthetic THC I know of is prescription Marinol. I question whether you have your facts straight.

They’re in no position to do blinded controlled research.
The research is being done on schizophrenia.

Quiting smoking causes psychosis.
Been there done that a dozen times or more, finally succeeded, never again do I want to go through that. almost five years now.
Diabetes and neuropathy was a great incentive.
Im sure paying my stupid for it now.

I'd like to read the study, top to bottom, raw data & analysis plus the population profiles.
It may be worth noting that not long ago, an adult or child that believe they were the opposite gender, were diagnosed with a mental disorder. Now, children are not only permitted to pursue the delusion, they are encouraged and given hormones to alter their biochemistry for life.
I hesitate to believe "scientific studies" upon empirical values.

“Some scientists think that smoking might act as a kind of “self-medication” that is, people with psychosis might find that smoking relieves their symptoms, perhaps due to some unidentified neurological mechanism.”
This idea of self-medication was proposed to explain the high prevalence of alcoholism among non-institutionalized schizophrenics. The same was said of depressants and amphetamine use among manic-depressives.

I see - according to you, “junk science” says MJ causes psychosis?

I’ve attended several clinical psychiatry programs on this at APA conferences over the years. They are all evidence based research.
The topics presented addressed the question as to why single use THC was triggering lifetime psychotic disorders.
John W Huffman and his team of researchers began developing cannabinoid compounds to aid in research of multiple sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, and chemotherapy. Over the course of twenty years, Huffman and his team developed 450 synthetic cannabinoid compounds which were used to test the effect of cannabinoid receptors in the brain and other organs. Ultimately, the cannabinoid research provided understanding of diseases and information for medication development.
One of the most available was JWH-18.
We ALL know smoking is not good for you, but this study is goofy.

Exactly HOW MUCH smoking are we talking here?
I have older relatives that have smoked for decades, and they are by no means showing any hints of psychosis.
To: VanDeKoik
They said 10 or more———a ridiculous study-——more could be 40——or 60.

"Has to do with atrophy of the dendrites on the pyradimal neurons in level three of the cerebral cortex."
I spent many years studying exactly that subject and after much research and analysis (including my own experimentation) I came up with positive proof that marijuana has zero affect on brain structures or mental processes. I would be happy to forward this information to you, but unfortunately I can't remember where I put it.

So will wrong genes, dumb luck, married to Christopher Reeves, living in a big city or any number of other unknown factors.
