No body is screwing Trump. No body is sticking it to him. He has a veto pen that could have ended this crap. We are the minions that have been screwed. The deal has been made.
When he has his next rally the bloom is off the rose. The wall was his first promise. Now we know what political promises are worth. The only good Repubs left are the freedom caucus.
This budget bill makes it even more clear that President Trump is not only fighting the democrats, he is fighting the reublicans too.
What’s more, he is doing it on their turf where they make the rules.
It is remarkable that he has made any progress at all because not only does he have both houses of congress and most of the judiciary
lined up against him, he is also burdened with bureaucracies riddled with agents of the opposition.
His every move is opposed and subverted from within his own party and his own administration.
Most of the people he inherited, hired or appointed on the advice of experienced republican Washington insiders have turned out to be bad selections - either overtly or covertly detrimental to the president.
They are there to pursue the establishment agenda and derail the Trump agenda.
When President Trump brought Ivanka and Jared into his inner circle I didn’t think it was a good idea. But I have come to understand why he did it - he wants at least a few people close to him that he can trust.
With all the daggers in his back you can’t fault him for wanting a few of his own people around him.
And pray for President Trump.
President Trump is a master negotiator. He looked at this budget and realized, given this divided Congress, it was the best deal he was going to get while preserving his #1 priority, $700 billion for defense spending. Sucks but there it is. Real world.
Our chances of attaining a SuperMajority in the Senate have just INCREASED, not decreased.
Democrat Senators in red states are sweating more today than a week ago.
We're in the 1st quarter of a 4 quarter game. Don't leave the stadium because we didn't score a touchdown.
The worst would not have gotten $700 billion for defense.
Why does everyone keep discounting that major achievement as nothing?
Assume for a minute Trump had vetoed this bill, then what? Shut down the government? This was a bipartisan bill, so the blame for the shutdown would fall squarely on Trump, weakening him for the future.
Eventually he would have to cave and sign an even worse deal.
Whenever you say, "Trump should have done this!," you have to also ask then question - "then what?"
If you are so sure Trump should have vetoed this bipartisan bill, what would happen next?
Would he ever have gotten a better deal than he has now? With THIS Congress? Unlikely.
HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS LOGIC:
To protest Trump signing the Omnibus bill, your plan is to stay home in November, assuring Democrat majorities? The next budget would then be worse WITHOUT $700 billion for the military!

THEY WILL stay home I am TOTALLY disgusted, Trump DID NOT win this election on more funding for the military although it IS important, he won because of THE WALL plain and simple AND doing away with OCARE!!!! The BASE at this point DONT CARE anymore and I guarantee you Trump just GAVE the house AND senate to the Dems, Republican voters ARE DONE and disgusted BEYOND REPAIR!!!!!

I understand that pretty well. struggles in life help us to see what our next steps will be.
Very tired(up at ER from PM to 6:30 AM with man of the house. He is admitted and his wife is a hot mess).. and a bit discouraged with things in my life.. Disappointed with people you hoped you could count on but boom.. Such is what DJT faces. How he does it is amazing and Iron M you are right. Having Ivanka and Jared close by and Melania a few steps away is good for him.

He may not have been able to overcome the votes to override his veto BUT he didn’t even show the base he was WILLING to use the veto pen, if both houses overrode his veto so be it, BUT at the VERY LEAST he VETOED THE DAMNED MONSTROSITY!!!!! Right now the DEMS are jumping up and down with joy and WE once again got the MIDDLE FINGER!!!!
Being a vet from a family of generations of military including my son, I DID vote for Trump in part because of his promise to fund our military.
Our military is severely depleted. We have old ships and planes and not enough parts to keep them all running. Without a strong military, everything else is mute.
Trump is doing first things first. The wall funding will come with DACA. Trump will shame the Dems into it. He’s breaking up their base.
I’m NOT GIVING UP ON TRUMP!
Whether you give up on Trump or not is not the issue. This has disappointed many in his base, voters who need to be motivated in Nov. We’re going to be crushed in the midterms not because the Dems will win but we will lose.
Thank the GOP establishment and Trump for not fighting for us on this monster bill. He’s been in the loop, was in on the deal and took it.

As a matter of fact, I'll be getting much more involved in politics.
This is MY country and the one I hope to pass along INTACT to my children and grandchildren.
I will not complain about this President who has taken on the awful burden of trying to save our country when he didn't have to.
Truly, God only knows what sufferings he's enduring and has been enduring for all of us.
At this moment of his most difficult compromise (necessary for our military, which I, for one, want to keep) I will not turn my back on him.
Did we expect to go and vote and then get back on with our lives while Superman saved us all?
Well, if we did we've now learned that we were not living in reality but only in hope.
President Trump is fighting our and our children's civil war for the life of our country and we owe him our help.
Now is the time for all of us to look inside and figure out what God is calling us to do and then to do it.
I detest politics but I will not sit idly by and let my country be tossed to the dogs.
Our president needs our help now more than ever before and I stand with him.
