Of course it was. It doesn't matter who the President is as long as the Deep State is allowed to keep running things. Clinton, the Bushes, and Obama were merely tools of the Deep State.
Donald J. Trump is not. And that, ladies and gentlemen, cannot stand. The Deep State will stop at NOTHING to bring down President Trump. NOTHING.
Sadly, you are correct, and this essentially means that we do not have representative government "by the people, for the people" anymore in America. We are a nation run by the 'connected'. They sit on university boards and define the path of American higher education. They own newspapers and television networks, and define what is 'news' and what will be spoon-fed to the public. They decide who will be allowed to run for and attain public office. They run the entertainment industry, and define our pop culture - determining the messaging that is embedded in our movies, writing, and music.
The rest of us can aspire to a better world, but whenever one of us pops up to become a challenge to 'the connected', they will try to destroy us.
