I think the deadline was Monday. But there is a long tradition in DC of dropping bad or damaging news at close of business on Friday, to minimize media frenzy.

I was inaccurate; the deadline wasn’t Monday, but it wasn’t midnight, either. Apparently it was tomorrow midnight.

My concern is that his eleventh hour termination may open a loop-hole that will enable him to ultimately collect his full retirement.
