IRS Documented 1.3M Identity Thefts by Illegal Aliens; Can’t Say It Referred Any for Prosecution

The Internal Revenue Service in 2011 through 2016 documented more than 1.3 million cases of identity theft perpetrated by illegal aliens whom the IRS had given Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN), which are only given to people who are ineligible to work in the United States or receive Social Security Numbers, according to information published by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

However, in response to inquiries from CNSNews.com, the IRS could not say if it had referred even one of these cases for criminal prosecution.

TIGTA, which is the inspector general responsible for overseeing the IRS, discovered another approximately 1.2 million cases in 2017 in which an illegal alien working in the United States had filed a tax return reporting wages that had been earned using a Social Security Number that belonged to someone else or was fabricated.

Yet the IRS also could not say whether it referred any of these cases for criminal prosecution.

Government tyranny today is 1000 times that of the American Revolution era. Just look at the Colonists grievances from the Declaration of Independence and passion from men like Thomas Paine on down and compare to everything done today. The Constitution is being shredded.

Question: Is this grounds for a class-action lawsuit against the IRS.

Identity Theft is a form of fraud, according to the Department of Justice, and is a felony.
At the very least, 18 U.S. Code § 4 - Misprision of felony, ought to be in play here and likely 18 U.S. Code § 371 - Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States and/or 18 U.S. Code § 286 - Conspiracy to defraud the Government with respect to claims, as well.

In short: at what point do we hold government accountable for its [in]actions, or are we merely slaves subject to its capricious whims?

Every one of those 1.3 million—and bet if they admit that, the actual number is likely 2.6 million—everyone one of them should be given choice—voluntarily deport and don’t return, else be prosecuted, jailed, and then deported anyway. Come one, we cannot let them get away with the crimes. If we stole an ID we’d be prosecuted and jailed, why do they get a pass?! Shame on IRS for sitting on this.

To prosecute Sessions needs to understand the different categories.
1. Anchor babies and freinds and family provide valid SSNs for illegal workers. You’d be amazed the number of babies doing construction work, landscaping, etc.

2. Tax preparers (and temp agency managers in cahoots) provide SSN to illegals in exchange for doing their taxes. Of course, guess who gets the EITC checks? EITC is probably the most fraud plagued program for the poor of any program in existence. The worst idea of Milt Friedman.

3. Are Infosys, TATA-TCS, etal doint the Satyam game of assigning 5 or 10 consultants to the same valid SSN and name? Are consultants at Allstate, State Farm, Chase, BOA, J&J, etc all using the same valid SSN and name?

4. Thieves steal IDs and re-sell them.

5. A few illegals do their own stealing. But it is really very few. They need names similar to their ethnic appearance to avoid suspicion. So guess who the victims are?

6. Some illegals make up numbers out of thin air. It is easy enough for even an amateur to create a SS Card given modern computers and printers.

Suppose Sessions can’t manage to do two things at the same time. So he has to pick one of the 6 to go after first.

Which one? IT consulting firms or EITC fraudsters? or would freepers prefer going after the small stuff first? And let the big stuff get a pass?

It is this that pisses me off more than just about anything. The IRS (and other government agencies as well for that matter) know who is falsely using social security numbers. They are normally one of the first organizations that would be aware of it because of the nature of the way employment works in this country. Yet, they do nothing about it. They make no attempt to weed out the use of duplicate and fake numbers. They do nothing to filter out multiple uses at the same address. This is because they don't give a damn. It doesn't cost them anything when some illegal or just a garden variety criminal steals your identity. Heck, sometimes they make extra money if two people pay taxes under the same SSN. If this were costing them money, you can be damned sure they'd be doing something about it.

Evil bunch of feral crapweasles

I’m curious about this as well.

Since they know of 1.3 million fraudulent uses of TIN, I’m going to wager that they are very careful to make sure the different users are tracked so no American citizens can get any of the offenders’ funds.

I figure if they steal my SSN, I’m damned well entitled to every bit of SS accumulated under that number.

I’m owed by the offender and the government who let them get away with it to gain more tax monies to completely misappropriate.

If Sessions is doing his job, we will prosecute all 1.3 million of those criminal illegals. Then we will track down another 12 or so million illegals and deport them. Then we will figure out how many illegals are left, and get rid of them too.
