The school attended by President Donald Trump's youngest son joined an open letter demanding the President pass gun legislation to protect students.
Robert Kosasky, the head of the St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, is just one of more than 100 independent school heads in the area calling on Trump, Congress and state leaders to "enact specific, rigorous measures to reduce gun violence in our society, particularly in our schools."
The open letter, which was first published in The Baltimore Sun and obtained by CNN, pushes for a "robust system" of background checks and stronger mental health services.

Is that still a religion? It seems to be more or less just a social justice club these days.

..."robust system" of background checks and stronger mental health services"... Why are we getting our knickers in a knot over this?
Trump has already supported both things.

How come the Friends’school didn’t make demands of Obama after mass shootings?

There is always a better school than one run buy a bunch of mental midgets who would, in effect, use a ten year old child as a kind of hostage. This is , quite frankly, extortion.

"I agree with the idea that private school administrators are just as liberal as public school administrators most of time...At least on the Second Amendment issue..."
Thank you for the perspective reminder that many of the private school administrators are more conservative in some other ways (issues of morality, teaching methods, etc.). So educating many more people--including educators--on the Second Amendment is in order. Describing benefits might also be a good addition (more politeness, less violent crime and more).

Good help us if Trump is going to decide gun policy based on Barron having a lefty headmaster.
It is perfectly within the headmaster’s right to sign such a letter—and good policy for Trump to ignore it.

I agree it is much more serious coming from Baron's school.
Sounds like a lawsuit to me using his son to force legislation

Thats all you need to know right there - theyve already abandoned God. Why would you trust them with your child?<<

St. Andrews is in Potomac, Maryland, in the People's Republic of Montgomery County. The overall political balance of the area is pretty one-sided, but there are some Republican and conservative families at the school. The school is pricey and that skews the demographic towards successful business and professional people. I imagine there are a few children whose parents have divorced but, as with most private prep schools, the kids are overwhelmingly from intact married couple families. That pulls things back to the right at least a bit, but it's still a gentry liberal area.
An important thing to remember is that St. Andrews brings most of its high school students up from its own lower and middle school, with the class expanding substantially in 9th grade. That kind of system will produce a broader academic range among the students than a selective high school that screens an entire entering class in 9th grade; schools like the latter can easily become very highly selective and a real hothouse environment. That's the right choice for some, but not for all. St. Andrews is academically rigorous and has a 100% college placement rate, but it's a bit more relaxed than some others.

If there’s a mass shooting at one of these rich kid schools, there will be action on gun control no matter who is President.

I’m sure that school is the most protected school in the nation because of Baron’s Secret Service detail.

I do not use the words “Christian” and “Episcopal” in the same breath. The Episcopal “Church” is nothing more than the liturgical wing of Comintern.

They’ve already done some Biblical revisionism by blessing same sex, ahem, marriages and allowing LGBTFUBAR types in positions of authority. They should pay me a consulting fee.

But the letter did not call for the elimination of Obama era policies that tell school systems not to report the crimes or violent acts of students if they are minorities, a policy that the Broward county schools had enthusiastically implemented.

That’s exactly what they want - and, of course, they will be the ones who determine who passes the evaluations.
If they can’t get psych evals, they will settle for judge shopping to get the determinations they want.
