If you haven’t come across the posts yet, a witness said that something fell from a crane and that caused the collapse. And other reports that the crew was conducting stress tests when it collapsed.

Nothing confirmed yet, AFAIK.

That would be an interesting turn of events. I'm trying to imagine what a crane could drop that would be heavy enough to cause a bridge collapse.

This bridge was designed to withstand the stress of a Category 5 hurricane.
