I doubt that FIGG is the one at fault here. They built the I-35W replacement bridge in Minneapolis, the new Jordan Bridge in the Virginia Tidewater area and the new Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Those are all still standing.
No, the politically-connected Munilla family built the bridge, their first project with FIGG. Lots of history on them if you do Internet search. Probably used illegal labor, cut corners, paid bribes, and all will be swept under the carpet because of the political connections. Speculation, but easy enough to read between the lines.
I only report who did it. Who is at fault is not my expertise. The fault falls somewhere, either in design or execution which will be decided in a court I am sure.
