No, it’s not. My dad “broke me in”
(a union term) to hanging Sheetrock
when I was in high school, in northern
California, in 1969-1970. At that time
“rockers” we’re paid by the square foot.
At .07 per square, he was making close
to $100,000 a year. A little over $45
an hour....
Interesting to note, there weren’t many
rockers over 40. The pace was very demanding,
and it was hard physical work.
Hang’n rock, sucks.
And that was his starting wage?
