One of the things I miss is flame warring with you. Even though I remain cranky, the excitement has worn off.

LOL .......... the battles very late at night on FR in the bad old days(10 to 20 years ago) were indeed beautifully EPIC ........ and generally carried more factual content.

Whatever happened to MiaT? Her posts were fabulous. What an artist.

Howlin ran off to one of the numerous "anti-FR" boards, "wideawakes." I don't recall the subject of the April '07 purge, but that's when she left.

I have no idea what happened to MiaT. I think she just left as her "art" got more criticism than praise, and no sense in antagonizing a community. I use a text-only browser when reading and participating on FR, so wasn't bothered by the bandwidth demand (bandwidth much more an issue in those days), and also wasn't exposed to a good chuck of MiaT's creativity.

Re decades ago FLAME WARS really WERE just as you said; today's are usually puerile, factless, baseless, boring, stupid, and not worth a pail of warm piss...except from my side, when i actually care enough to engage. ;^)

I'll tell you what happened to the "missing' in FRmail.
