She reminds me of the Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn characters at the end of the movie, “Death Becomes Her.” She has lived so many lies, and such a politically scripted existence for so long that there is nothing but a shell full of lies, devoid of virtually any humanity. Now, even that carefully maintained facade cannot contain the bitter ugliness within.

Morgana from King Arthur tales, used all her magic to make her son invincible and keep herself beautiful. In the end, her son became vulnerable and was killed, and Morgan's spell on her self was put into overdrive, as she aged and died within minutes, and the kingdom was saved.
