Lamb vs. Saccone Special Election PA18
NY Times ^ | March 13, 2018

Posted on 03/13/2018 5:16:01 PM PDT by Pinkbell

A thread to discuss the results.

I feel like Lamb has a lot of momentum, has run as a moderate, and has run a better campaign. I'll predict he'll win tonight (although I'd like to see Saccone win).

NYT does a good job with election results.

You’re not wrong and he “prosecuted and convicted a Marine officer who had lied under oath and to The Washington Post about a sexual misconduct case”

He could get 70% of the absentees. I think Saccone should do around 60%.

Am I seeing the Dems claim victory? When so many votes need to still be counted? I guess they are pretty sure they can cheat their way into another seat in the House!

And the guy they ran is a complete FRAUD!

He SAYS he supports gun rights. He SAYS he is Pro-Life. He SAYS he won’t vote for Nancy Pelosi. He SAYS he supports Trumps Tariffs.

I guarantee his voting record in DC will be 95% Hard Left.

They run a gun grabbing, sanctuary city supporting, hard left loon he loses by 20 points.

>>>Yes it is. Nobody cares about the margin. He’s another DEM in congress. It’s a BIG WIN for them.

It's posts like yours that make me wish FR had "like" buttons, like Facebook. It is amazing all "absolutely certain" statements people make on this forum...and then instead of admitting they were wrong...they double down with even more idiocy.

If it’s 2000, we can pick up about 800 votes

That would be 70%. That’s a high percentage.

Wow. 800 is 70% of 2000? Is that new math?

I can’t either. He is almost as bad as Shep Smith.

Its not in the T. The Democrats just didn’t have the right candidate - until now. They pulled even which is a win for them even if they lose. If they win, its a blow to the President who spent time and prestige trying to help the Republican to an easy win.

If they run moderate, Blue Dog pro-gun candidates in GOP districts, the party get screwed. Lamb ran like a Republican.

I know. There are times when I despair, and thing the damage done is too great, and our military has been fatally compromised. And that we will only find out the next time we get into a shooting war with someone who is going to fight back from a position of relative parity.

But all the people and politicians who advocated for women in combat, homosexuals and transsexuals being able to openly serve, affirmative action advancements, cuts in funding and personnel, etc. will all be long gone. They will never be held to account.

I do feel that way sometimes, and hope to God I am wrong on that.

Of the possible 2000 votes still out, Saccone needs 70%, or 1400 of them to make up the 800-vote difference.

But he sure won’t VOTE like a Republican! Republicans may be again proving that we are the STUPID PARTY.

Dave Wasserman: “According to a source, one of the outstanding precincts (N. Ligonier, Westmoreland Co.) voted Saccone (R) 479-285.”

Saccone was down 95 votes before Allegheny absentee ballots. That means Saccone won the election day vote. If he ends up losing, it will be because of absentee ballots.

Yup. A Blue Dog Democrat.

They used to exist. But Lamb marketed himself as a different kind of Democrat in a mainly GOP district.

By all accounts, the strategy worked. Democrats have to refrain on running to the Hard Left to win.

They’re not completely stupid sand complacency is the GOP’s greatest enemy.

How can you lose a district Trump won by 20 points. You can if you don’t get your ass off and vote.

Every vote literally counts.

>If it’s 2000, we can pick up about 800 votes
>That would be 70%. That’s a high percentage.

In Allegany county there were 3,108 absentee ballots.

1930 for Lamb
1178 for Saccone

So Lamb got about 63% of the absentee ballots in a county he won by 57.2%

There are 3202? absentee ballots left in Washington, Greene and Westmorland counties where Saccone led by @53, 58 and 57%

If Saccone gets the same percentage (63%) in the Republican Counties as Lamb got in the Dem county, it’s a virtual tie.
