Great! Tillerson was never a team player. Pompeo is an excellent choice. He will get everything sorted out with CIA etc. BTW ...Pompeo was first in his class ar West Point! A solid American...not a weasly Globalist!

This was a testy relationship at best. However T-Rex was a presence and stood up well to the pressure IMHO!

She ran a CIA facility in Thailand where they waterboarded some muslim high value turds. Then she reportedly order the tapes of the interrogations destroyed. She’s obviously an operator and will do what it takes. I like her selection. I also like the Pompeo selection. I hope it signals that the USA has removed it’s gloves and will not behave according to Marquis of Queensberry rules. Tillerson did what he was hired to do and will now go back into the private world, live long and prosper.

If Hillary lives that long. Did you see the vid of her falling down the steps in India? She is a very sick puppy...acute alcoholism and Parkinson’s...not long until she meets her Maker...and He will not be as lenient as Sessions!

Great post. I thought Tillerson was doing a respectable job at least as hatchet man, and whatever differences he had vis-a-vis foreign policy, he covered up with grace and style.

Not to say he was the right man for the long run, I trust Trump's decision was made with due deliberation.

Oh, wow! That gal sounds formidable! All those useless desk jockeys at CIA had better get their affairs in order, and prepare for early retirement!

Rex lost his frame in the face of the nerve agent Russians did it hysteria, and once you lose your frame in the face of hysteria you are weak and exploitable.

“Tillerson gets the boot while McMaster remains. Trump’s priorities are a mystery.”

Hint: Tillerson was a source of angst with the Princess. McMaster did not.

It was a lot of things, as Trump said, Iran deal for one. Trump just said it looks like Russia did it too.

It’s hard to get traction when you’re openly arguing about his policies.

It’s like as soon as somebody is assigned to State, they feel they must protect State.

I receive my monthly union (AFSA) magazine and am privy to an internal State blog that has both retired and active duty FSOs on it. The anti-Trump feeling is rampant. Over 90% of the content is anti-Trump.

Trump's policies have hit State hard. Many State employees devoted years of their careers on TPP, climate change and the Paris agreement, the Iran deal, women's and gay rights, etc. Trump has undone much of those efforts.

Whatever the reasons for Trump's removal of Tillerson, Pompeo is going to face similar problems if he follows through on the Trump agenda. It is baked into the cake. Pompeo will face the choice of doing what Trump wants or placating the bureaucracy . Tillerson did the former.

It didn’t help that Tillerson steps off of a plane in Kenya and finds out about the NK meeting offer from the press.

That right there was a sign that Tillerson was already out. If you've made your mind up that he's the wrong man for the job then your instincts are probably not to seek his counsel. In Trump's mind, Tillerson was already out the door. That said, it was bad optics and Trump should have kept him in the loop as long as he held the title.

Yo.

Trump just placed the former head of the CIA in charge of State, to personally go through Cankles’ files.

TRex and his left over Deep State thugs in our State Department didn’t leak the news about N. Korea, as he/they were not in the loop.

exactly - the degree to which is now even more apparent ;)
