It would be fitting that Cohen paid did actually her off, based on “her stories” (threats) to Cohen about releasing her relationship to Trump, but Trump did NOT know about the payments nor the threat to release the story.

Trump is the kind of self-confident man who - if threatened like that - would have been likely to simply admit it. And actually admit it with pride! “Yes, Melanie knows I did go out with a porn star. And she was great!”
