Maybe my hunch is more than a hunch. I do think the end is near for the current Korean status quo, and it will end peacefully.

It might be a good idea to get that U.S. ambassador to Seoul filled.

Any deal China makes that involves throwing the Norks overboards will, in the long run, be unmasked as a deception.

Numerous times it has been shown China is, whatever the sanctions, covertly trading with the Norks at sea.

Same for Russia.

Why would the present be any different than the immediate past..?

"NK commits to end its Nuke Program"

Why the momentus elation..? We've been exactly here before.

DECADES later, who much has the situation improved.

Why wouldn't they try the same ploy again..?

KJU sent a "large delegation of senior officials" to the Olympics -- as well as his own sister. and, almost certainly, he watched the Olympics on TV.

Undoubtedly, his envoys -- and his sister -- returned to the DPRK, stunned at the openness, affluence, technology -- and plenteous food -- they encoutered.

On TV, he watched a stunning "tour de force" of SK technnology during the opening ceremonies.

But, I expect that what really got to him was American.

From this:

...to this...

He saw those Intel drones swarm away from from a clever skier image -- and, with unerring 4-D guidance -- form a militarily-precise set of rings in the sky.

~~~~~~~~~~
My guess is that he ("somehow") got the message that, at any time he is outdoors, he, personally, can suddenly be encircled closely by a swarm of American drones -- carrying anti-personnel charges...
~~~~~~~~~~

As Q would say,

BOOM!
