Bronson WWII Vet from a Pennsylvania anthracite mining (and yes he was a miner - “$1 per ton”) family of Lipka Tartar ethnicity.
You wonder why there’s such a difference in today’s actors and the past ones.

wherever they are, it’s in Africa. so dat’s why.
Kersey was an architect in the original. Now he’s a doctor?
Just don't go see this new one with anyone named "Jack"...
Agreed. But from the standpoint what with the pure nauseating garbage that Hollyweird has been churning out for the past year and a half or two it is indeed refreshing to see a watchable movie with some real talent, ie Bruce Willis for a change.
Clearly though this latest remake of an old classic with the venerable Charles Bronson is not nearly as exciting or good as its original (not unusual though) it is much more preferable to that of the all the other crap that they've been pushing out the garbage disposal chute called Hollyweird. The movie is clearly a bright spot at last in a vast and dreary line of new movies.
Can’t wait to see it!
A journalist interviewed Michael Winner, who directed the original. “Why is there so much violence in your films?” he sneered. Winner grabbed the guy’s tape recorder and smashed it against the wall.
Saw it this weekend. 3 of 4 bad guys Latino. I noticed. Honestly it was obvious. I went because I like to put money in movies directed or played by conservatives. Bruce Willis.
I expected a backlash.
Yep - my wife wants to see it purely based on the ads where the analyst is telling Willis that whatever he’s doing seems to be helping - so keep doing it. I love her laugh when she is “evilly” amused..
I read the book.when they describe Paul Kersey his description was Darren McGavin from the night stalker.
Hopefully this version has at least ONE Black dude among the perps who off his wife.
Death Wish and The Death of Stalin are bound to make a nice weekend at the movies! Finally!
Going next weekend. Can’t wait!!!
My mother adored Charles Bronson. He was one of her faves.
I also thought I’d never go to another movie theater again, and haven’t been for over 10 yrs, but I weakened and went to see this movie over the weekend and LOVED IT.
Tickets were only $6 ea but we spent $22 for one big box of popcorn and two tanker sized soft drinks.
Black Panther: racist.
Seeing the ads for it, it looks fairly cliché, but all this controversy will do will boost ticket sales for what would have been another Bruce Willis bomb of late.
