Ah yes, MissEdie, I have no doubt that what you say is true. But the Democrats are also the party of the Ku Klux Klan - a direct outgrowth of the Civil War and aborned in the South.

I just found his tagline curious in light of all that.

And, btw, I live south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Amazing how popular the liberals old game of ‘who’s the biggest racist’ has become in conservative circles in recent years. Probably brought to us by the herds of liberals who crossed into our territory fleeing the hard left, giving us the dubious gift of neoconservatism.

Outing American racism is also very popular among imports from the Subcontinent, Nikki Haley and Dinesh D’Souza in particular, when they aren’t cheering on the removal of the battle flag and old confederate statues. But hey, it isn’t their history so they’re just fine with talibanning the South.

Bet you a dollar not one of them knows that there were three different eras of ‘the Klan’ which had no connection to each other besides the name. Nor that the second Klan was largely a Midwest and Far West affair. And they certainly couldn’t tell you about what role Reconstruction and military occupation played in the first one.

The Ku Klux Klan has zero connection to the ideology of the modern hard left Democratic Party and linking the two is one of the more ridiculous games in political rhetoric, despite its popularity with Rush and Hannity. It makes as much sense as equating the Republican Party with the Know Nothing Party that helped form it- and you would have a hard time finding anything in the Know Nothing Party’s beliefs that differed from the Klan.
