These companies were stupid to step into a heated political debate because of some leftists on social media. It's like Carbonite dropping its ads on Rush Limabaugh's show because of the #DumpRush thing after his comments about Sandra Fluke. How'd that work out? Oh, the CEO of Carbonite said it was a stupid mistake that hurt their business and regretted having done it.
Maybe these companies should grow a spine and commit to waiting one full month before announcing they're dropping this or banning sales of assault rifles or Confederate flags or whatever. These outcries never last long before the fickle American public moves on to the next fake outrage.
Exactly. I said at the time I heard it that the whole thing was not about advantaged fares for NRA members, but advertising brand awareness by Delta. They were the only ones benefiting by the association with the NRA.
What a huge publicity blunder by an otherwise good airline. They were panicked by a teenage bully.
I dont think they should wait at all. The earlier they out themselves as the knee-jerk lefties they are, the better.
What I dont understand is why they immediately cave to an electronic lynch mob in the first place. I mean, Twatter users and the like are basically, at their core, bullies. Our kids are taught about bullying in schools. Its a no no, right? But doing it on Twatter etc. is apparently okay if you think the right way.
Man these people have no clue what a hornets nest theyre kicking.
