We hear all sorts of things over the years. My oldest son was often amazed at what I remembered correctly. He called me “cob web head” saying, it just goes up there in dad’s head, gets stuck in the cob webs and twenty years later comes out.

We are up to the point where “mainstream” media are like the Soviet-era media. People derive information by interpreting exactly the contrary of what the media say (an ex soviets told me that).
Case in point :
Lying media says “Gun makes US suicide highest in world” => US suicide is far from highest in world and gun has nothing to do with suicide rate.

When I was in Japan, there was an epidemic of suicides by people throwing themselves on the rails, sometimes even in the stations when trains arrive. It made headlines in the press. There were even brochures explaining how to deal with the situation, particularly urging to disperse children asap to avoid them seeing the scene.
Liberal logic: ban the trains, especially the Shinkansen, the high-speed and most lethal ones.
