Since one effing judge took the “dreamers” issue off the table, whenever I hear news like this, I’m hopeful it means Trump decided to use his rope-a-dope strategy with Democrats on the gun rights issue.
Otherwise, I’d be angry.
I’m expecting this will play out as rope-a-dope.
He’s giving Democrats “yes” to nearly everything they want, but since that will mean actually AGREEING with Trump, and thus handing him a success, their cognitive dissonance will take over and they’ll scuttle the whole thing just like they’re doing to DACA.
That said, I’m nervous that he does in fact want these. We knew he wasn’t seriously right-wing when we voted for him - we just knew, on the whole, he’d get thru more of the right-wing agenda than any other candidate.
There should be enough judges to take everything off the table on both sides. At least all executive orders.
