Not one but four sheriff’s deputies hid behind cars instead of storming Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS in Parkland, Fla., during Wednesday’s school shooting, police claimed Friday — as newly released records revealed the Broward County Sheriff’s Office had received at least 18 calls about the troubled teen over the past decade.
Sources from Coral Springs, Fla., Police Department tell CNN that when its officers arrived on the scene Wednesday, they were shocked to find three Broward County Sheriff’s deputies behind their cars with weapons drawn.
The school’s armed resource officer, Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson, was also outside. He resigned on Thursday after his failure to act was publicly revealed.

I can see Peterson discovering he was a coward at the wrong moment but this smacks of orders to stay out....
They forgot to add that the 4 deputies were able to go home at the end of their shift were they received a lot of false hero worship.
I've wondered about that. Not so much their anti- agenda, but as just a way to hype the people into accepting gun registration/confiscation "for their own good" and clearing their way to permanent power.
I believe they are hoping for a hysterical "Throw Out The Baby" reaction to gun ownership as happened in the UK after the Dunblane school shooting and in Australia after the Port Arthur Massacre.
"There's someone breaking into my house. Could you send the Broward County Sheriff's Department to water my garden while I kill the intruder?"
And it’s no accident that this happened in Florida. Florida is an important state in elections.
