Interesting idea but CA is so disfunctional they probably wouldn’t notice difference.

Knowing the state from an earlier life, there might be a use for those officers.

The CA-OR border has ten road crossings.
N CA to Tahoe —ten.
Tahoe to/including I15 —sixteen.
Down to/including I40 —seven.
Down to/including I10 —ten.
From there to the Mexican border —two.

Total 55 road crossings. Most traffic on is on 5 Interstates. The 4 Arizona crossings already have large facilities for inspection that could be ‘loaned’.

This border is blessed by the Sierras and the Colorado River. In winter cold mostly. In summer blazing mostly. Little population in most places.

So, how many officers available? Maybe grab others, like FBI, US Marshal’s Service, and plenty others. Just a thought...
