Speaking at a press conference, Florida Governor Rick Scott has unveiled his plan to prevent another school attack like the one that claimed 17 lives in Parkland, Florida. Governor Scott pledged his support for a “gun violence restraining order,” raising the minimum age to purchase any type of firearm to 21, banning bump fire stocks and putting a police officer in every school.
Kinda like child support, but for a gun
At the very least, you can’t have the Nelson running ads saying that Scott is doing nothing in response.
Maybe we can finally make the Democrats happy and pass a “Conservatives Must Have Their Hands Tied Behind Their Backs Law” .
That’s brilliant, sir! Should result in no actual difference at all. Make sure the cops you hire are as brave and selfless as that other cop who saved the the other day too.

See, that just floors me. In Georgia, and I thought in ALL states, if a domestic violence call is made, SOMEBODY is going to jail. The only job of the responding officer(s) is to decide who. It's right in their police procedure guide.
Since this guy assaulted his mother dozens of times, I have NO idea how they didn't take him in.

Has Scott made it clear that he is on the side of the citizens and the rule of law?
We don’t need another Bush League Republican like Foam Boy who is hell bent on amnesty for illegal aliens.
Having “a” police officer present is not going to help unless that police officer is not a chicken $#/+ who needs a dozen back up officers before confronting the perp.
This is one school shooting that could have been prevented but school officials and the cops did everything they could to actually make it happen.
All the laws in the world are worthless when the powers that be refuse to uphold the laws.
The only laws the left seem to want to uphold, are the laws that apply to law abiding citizens. Thusly, I can only conclude that the left is PARTY to LAWLESSNESS.
But then someone somewhere would have had to spend ten minutes on paperwork.

My local police department has 134 officers. Our school district (same area as the school district) has (public schools only) 11 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 1 high school. So that is 14 public schools. I don’t think that is insurmountable with 134 officers. We also have myriads of civilian school employees who are not teachers from whom funds could be freed up(administrators, aides, etc...). So whether by hiring more cops or using some combination of an on duty and off duty cops, I think this would work where I am. Of course, if they opened it up to honorably discharged veteran volunteers, it would cost nothing. Or a pittance even if some kind of course or additional qualification was insisted upon. We could have 5 or more armed veterans at every school practically for free.
This guy is a squish. Moistened finger in the wind type. I knew it when he TWICE backed-off his promise to end alimony in Florida divorce cases.
However
If the state has grounds such as 39 calls to the police from your residence for violent threats and assault, schools pressing charges on juveniles who sell weapons in school like this kid did, and add in an involuntary commitment for a 72 psych work up even if mummy wont press charges - then poof goes your “ rights’ to buy guns without a cleared mental health report
There has to be a standard
You will soon have to be 21 or older to shoot up schools.

Not one person outside of the White House is saying a single word about the mental stability of people running loose in the general population of the USA.
The gun didn’t do the killings. The mentally UNSTABLE person holding the gun did all of this.
He was aided & abetted by a school ‘security system’ that had a 20 minute TAPE DELAY in what was transmitted to the Sheriff’s department.
How about a 20 minute delay in a ‘silent alarm’ at your local bank? How about a 20 minute tape delay in the ‘security cameras system’ inside your own house??? Or a 20 minute delay in notifying ADT that your house has an intruder?
Can ANYONE with some power connect these dots???
There was a police officer in the school. Fat lot of good it did. And why is there nothing in that about making sure that all the balls that were dropped by the authorities in this case aren't dropped in the future? There were more than enough warning signs, more than enough information sent to the police and the FBI about the shooter to have prevented it and it wasn't done. How will any of Scott's proposals correct that little problem?
Will the military up their enlistment age to 21?
I was buying ammo at 14, first rifle at 17. Today I could not buy either if I was 14 or 17.
