A police officer who was on duty at a Florida high school and did nothing to stop gunman Nikolas Cruz when he started his massacre has been suspended.

Deputy Scot Peterson, who was armed with a handgun, did follow police procedure and immediately confront Cruz when he started his rampage killing 17 people with an AR-15 assault rifle, according to the Broward County Sheriff's department.

Instead he took cover at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School for upwards of four minutes and 'never went in ', according to Sheriff Scott Israel who said Peterson's actions left him 'Sick to my stomach. There are no words.'

The guy had 30-odd years with the police. Far as the local news tells the story, he seems to have spent the last decade or more....as a school-resource-officer, mainly just talking to kids. Beyond that, he was drawing a $75,000 pay situation per year....making $100k with over-time.

Hate to suggest it, but he was mostly on-duty as a fake-cop in uniform. Even he quits....within five years, he’ll collect a pension deal with the county.

My question would be....do all the other schools in Broward operate the same way, with fake cops at the school, drawing $75,000?

We are beginning to get a picture of what modern day law enforcement is in South FL. Go no further than the gun grabbing Sheriff who appeared with Dana Loesch at the “Orwell 1984” CNN Town Hall meeting with students, easily duped, during the emotion of what they have been through. We know CNN could not use a student who would not cooperate with scripted questions. Now, we learn that a well respected officer, Scott Petersen, cowered and hid rather than to have stopped the killer. The reaction of the gun grabbers is to disarm all the rest of us and to teach us that we had better hide during a crisis rather than to wait on the police to do their job. However, more than 100 million people own rifles in this nation and more than 300 million own guns. These are law abiding citizens, some of whom hunt, but, the vast majority own those guns because, increasingly, they understand that we are living in times when we cannot depend on law enforcement to protect us, from either those who would want to harm us or those who are connected with the government and desire, above all to take away our rights as given to us by God, and enumerated in the US Constitution. Anyone who sees the leftist media's bullying resentment and threatening efforts day in and day out to take away the right of our duly elected leaders to preside over the business of this nation, had better be very alarmed. These leftists reside mostly on the East and West Coasts in highly populated enclaves, and they are very dedicated to the idea of authoritarian rule, with themselves being the rulers. Now, we know they exist on the Coast of FL, as well, even though the state of FL is not of that ilk. Stay strong, FL. Do not let these loud mouths take that horrible tragedy which took those 17 precious lives and weaponize it politically against the rights of the American people. Demand that the law enforcement officials in that county and the FBI take responsibility for their slothful action which seems to have opened the door to this tragedy. Please know that CNN saw the opportunity to dupe grieving students for their own nefarious ends, and did not hesitate to bring that disgraceful scripted performance to American viewers. God help us. Anyone to has eyes to see and ears to hear will understand the slime being thrown at us while part of our nation is trying to process indescribable grief.

Sheriff Dan Israel needs something, anything, to take attention away from the horrible policies of the school system and the Sheriff’s department that enabled Cruz to be ignored until this event. This deputy’s actions are a godsend for the sheriff. Don’t be distracted, we need to keep the heat on the policies. In particular, see the MOU in the tweet stream at the link.

He was following policy. As a SRO he immediately pulled out his pen and composed a conflict mediation plan. (What do you think SROs are there for?) The delay was caused by police headquarters. They didn't immediately approve the plan because they were busy with a school shooting somewhere.

His second priority was to review the cctv tapes to edit out any evidence of a crime by a student. That is why the tapes are on a 20 min delay. School Board and Police policy.

He is the designated SL (sacrificial lamb) in order to keep these policies in place and replicated everywhere. Trump approves so there.

All he had to do was distract the perp. Just firing his 9mm weapon randomly would have stopped the perp’s killing spree who would have had to investigate another shooter. Heck, during the pauses in gunfire he could have just fired his weapon into the air and that would have helped the situation.
