A doctor named Gergerlioglu was sentenced to 2-1/2 years in a Turkish prison for posting on Twitter a photo and advocating peace. He was almost immediately fired from his job for his posting.

The photo was of a Kurdish mothers protesting behind two symbolic coffins, one draped in the Turkish flag and the other in a Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) flag. “Looking at this picture, you will understand that this war has no meaning. Mothers the same, flags different.”

There is no "Justice" (Adalet - in Turkish) in Turkey today. None.

American academics and organizations that don’t hesitate to criticize everything Israel does have been strangely silent as thousands of Turkish students and academics have been imprisoned and many schools closed by that country’s government.
