I currently have a Samsung S7 Edge. No complaints. I might have purchased the S8 last year but the fingerprint sensor was on the back of the phone next to the camera lens. Nope!

I'll be back on the cellphone market again in 2 years when they should be ready with the Galaxy S11. Think of how advanced that cellphone will probably be!

It will have built-in warp drive. You'll be able to tour the galaxy with it.

I have the same model. Love it. No need to upgrade for the sake of upgrading, even if Samsung has made device migration pretty easy these days.

I’ll say this. I had 3 iPhones and one S7 which I’ve used for the last year and a half.

I don’t remember my S7 locking up ever, it may have but that’s how rarely it occurs. I can remember lockups were a regular occurrence on my iPhones every few months. My Nokia Windows phone was the best as far as reliability but you know how that is.

I’ll buy a new ‘smartphone’ when they make one with full duplex communications like our landline phones have.

My first cellphone had it, but none do these days. It’s like using a CB radio but you have no control over when your talk button is pressed and when it is not. I guess when you give up analog voice and go to all digital you have to make some concessions.

A picture of my fav cell phone.

That's a joke but it's a classic. I don't have a cell phone.

I have the S8 and generally enjoy it (almost got the S7 but decided to wait). I don’t use the fingerprint scanner, Bixby, or the swipe “down” from the main screen to access whatever that wasted function was. Disabled them along with a lot of other Samsung garbage. Not crazy about the beveled edges but I’m used to them now. Had to search long and hard to find a decent browser. Owned the phone right at two years...battery’s getting a little weak.

The camera is GREAT, telephone is loud and clear, Spider Solitaire plays fine (except beveled edge interferes). Did I mention the camera is wonderful...puts my wife’s iPhone 7 to shame.

I’ve had a S7 Edge “Active” for a couple years. Never a problem. Works every day, reliably.

Whereas my wife and daughter have iPhones and complain about frequently issued new operating systems messing up there phones.

I can also change the battery and add memory. Even my sim card when I am out of the country. They can’t, or at least, as easily.

I also have an S7 phone, and a Tab 5 tablet. Happier with the phone than the tablet. We also have a Samsung washing machine; it plays a little tune when the load is done. My wife wondered the name of the tune and she didn’t see the humor when I told her it was “The East is Red.”

Another “S7 Edge” owner.

Lovin’ it ...and in no hurry to upgrade.

What will the Samsung Galaxy S9 price be?

Our sources have told us to expect a price hike of £50 in the UK, which will translate to £739 - this means we’d expect it to land around $775 / AU$1300 in other nations. That’s a 7% increase over last year, but a massive 25% bump from the Galaxy S7 - the Galaxy S9 won’t be cheap.

I have a very hi-quality phone from LG less than $275.00 new.
It has the latest OS Oreo 8.1 with the finger print on the back and think that is one of it’s best features.

It’s almost 2 years old and the battery holds for up to 2 and a half days. Camera puts out quality pic’s.

Can’t see spending $700.00 for any phone.

Samsung phones are pure junk. My daughter tossed hers out after lots of problems, and bought an iPhone and loves it. My older sister has had lots of problems with her Samsung phone losing power at the worst times, and I’ve been telling her to replace it with an iPhone. Her son replaced the battery in her Samsung yet it continues to have problems holding a charge. I would never buy one.

"If you own an Android phone, the odds are pretty high that it bears a Samsung logo."

Nope. Mine's a Motorola.

Does the S9 allow the user to change the battery and does it still have micro SD card or did they discontinue that again? I’m still happy with my S5.

I personally think the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ is aimed specifically at Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 users. Last year’s Galaxy S8 was aimed for people trying to decide to getting an iPhone or not.
