One word: Venuezla.
A despotic country that starves its disarmed populace to death.
I’ll take an AR-15 over that scenario any day.
If liberals want to confiscate our guns, they’ll take them from our cold, dead hands.
Our freedom is non-negotiable. Deal with it.
“Well Regulated” means that the people are well-trained and the weapons are in good order, ready to go.
Remember the same police and military the liberals loathe and say are far too powerful are at the same time the only ones who can be trusted with guns. Just like this wonderful DEA agent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am-Qdx6vky0
More like over their dead bodies.
Thanks for posting the whole thing
Where did you access that? It’s nowhere to be found when I go to Townhall
Tagline:
‘regulated’ typically means that there is a process, and things generally work. So the basis of this discussion really centers on the idea of a process. You wouldn’t have guns, if a process for manufacturing didn’t exist. You wouldn’t have guns, if a process for selling the guns, didn’t exist. You wouldn’t have hunting, unless a process existed. Behind all of these are various things that we’ve accepted.
An example, when you buy a gun at the gun shop, there’s a sales tax involved. When you buy bullets, there’s a sales tax. That’s all a process or regulation.
The same is true for transport of gun in the public sector.
I would be the first to agree that the Constitution gave a great right, but it opened the door to various processes and regulations existing.
A militia is a civilian army. How can militias be armed if civilians aren’t allowed to own guns?
Anyone who thinks America can’t become a tyranny has lost touch with reality. Hitler was duly elected by the German people. Look how well that turned out.
Maybe the left wants us to become like Switzerland? We can all be issued a real assault rifle and be required to train with it a couple times per year.
And every member of the militia was required to have their own weapons unless they were too poor to own them.
These are weak arguments. I know it’s not the popular view, but the Second Amendment is 1 vote away from being gutted by SCOTUS. And it might have happened if the GOP Senate hadn’t blocked Merrick Garland. And then all of your reliance on the 2nd Amendment will be as useful as those who relied on the Commerce Clause to block Obamacare. So much for that, thanks to Justice Roberts.
In my view self defense is a natural law right that flows from the right to be left alone. As a natural law right it cannot be repealed by any government. Guns are an inherent component of the right to self defense because they equalize the ability men (and women) to defend themselves. Anybody who has lived in Oakland, Chicago or DC readily understands this component.
This dangerously flawed article was written by a lazy Townhall publisher.
Well Regulated, word usage at the time, does NOT mean,
1) Not regulation
2) Not Congress “regulated”, fact is, that violates “shall not be infringed”
3) IIRC Well Regulated means accurate arms, taken care of.
Guns at the time were not rifled, so bullets flew corkscrew inaccurate.
Townhall is DISGUSTING ILLITERATE PROPAGANDA.
It is shocking that people actually get paid to write such trash.
From the net: “The following are taken from the Oxford English Dictionary, and bracket in time the writing of the 2nd amendment:
1709: “If a liberal Education has formed in us well-regulated Appetites and worthy Inclinations.”
1812: “The equation of time ... is the adjustment of the difference of time as shown by a well-regulated clock and a true sun dial.”
Bump for later.

Id just like to add that peoples feelings do not trump my natural rights, endowed by my creator. If they want to rely on government for protection from all harm, God bless them and good luck! I wont take that chance.
“Redcoat gun control activists”
LOL!!!
Decent article and Schlichter brings up great points, as usual, but I think it can all be narrowed to one:
Why are 9 of 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights, for the, Individual, except for the 2nd?
I'm still waiting for my Constitutionally MANDATED range time and reservists format voluntary attendance annual 2 weeks training.
