What I’ve noticed most about athletes like Vonn and Adam Rippon is their inability to leave politics out of the equation. Sports are supposed to be a non-partisan activity that rises above it all.

Vonn, Rippon, etc. decided that they wanted to use their platform as a Olympic athlete to say whatever was on their mind. I have no time for that. I’d have said the same if a conservative Olympic athlete threw out a negative comment about President Hillary Clinton.

Also, these athletes need to consider this little fact. While they do reserve the right to say what is on their mind, they shouldn’t be surprised when people out there react in a negative way to their comments.

Good news, the men’s curling team now in semi’s - all family men with values unlike so many others.

We can add golfer Rory McIlroy to the list. And, to my pleasure, Rory is also suffering from the “Trump Curse”. Rory couldn’t sink a putt if the hole was the size of a garbage can.

Your post exactly expresses my thoughts.
