I have a good idea for a law. Force everyone in congress to have their kids attend normal public schools.
such as raising the legal age for possessing assault rifles
The Republicans need to “man up” and defend the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights and tell the “young skulls full of mush” and their Marxist puppeteers to FO. JMO.
I intend to "hunt" tyrants with mine, when doing 2nd Amendment work.
For fun I rip paper and varmints.
What can they do on mental health that isn’t already available?
Ping.....
Post 34 provides a link and describes the article I noted earlier today
“Mounting pressure”?
Well, I guess. The gun control folks are ever eager to screw someone.
I don’t think the AR is the first choice for hunters, but ask the same question about home protection.
It would seem to me that the kids are not strong about what needs to be done, but may be more interested in running around like Chicken Little, Do something, make us feel better.
Some things that might be done — and this gets to the heart of the matter:
Do we want to seriously alter the mental health situation knowing that in some countries those in power use mental health as a tool to lock up their opposition? I personally favor an interview and internet review as part of the gun buying process, but I see that getting the right skilled bureaucracy in place will be a problem. Clearly the mental health lobby will not be in favor of harnessing therapists to report on their charges. After denial, some appeal process also must exist.
What can be done with age restrictions? I personally don’t mind if purchase of guns is restricted in this manner. People all know that they will eventually qualify and we all understand that the mind does not fully develop until the mid twenties. I would not deny kids of firearm training and safety classes, but these do not need to be owned firearms — my initial training was at Boy Scout Camp. Others got NRA hunter safety training. Both are good ideas for expansion.
Being a former teacher, I would have welcomed the concept of a voluntary security force of concealed carry teachers who have training, and physical abilities that could come into play in any active shooter situation. Not all teachers are in my camp, but likely enough to make a difference in the length of time it takes to respond to an active shooter.
I do.
Exactly, Hugh. The 2A is not about hunting.

YES and along with their kids attending public schools, these BASTARDS should also be forced onto Obammie Care!!! BUT HELL they just make the laws WHY should these ASSHATS have to abide by them, they are after all the RULERS of us peons!!! Just disgraceful what this DAMNED government has come to!!!!
How can you call students who had to step over their dead friends and teachers “snowflakes”?
RINOs like Flake and Graham. When it comes to guns there are far too many Rats who know better than go near them. Reference the vote in Florida the other day. Only 36 votes to ban ARs in the midst of all this Brown Shirt Media fury.
“Florida Republicans Face Mounting Pressure to Act on Gun Control”
It’s true! They need to act IMMEDIATELY to REPEAL ‘gun free zones’ and enact Constitutional carry!
In that matters how?
I must say, this does not look good. I would hate to see Joe G selling out to a transient, vocal mob for Brownie points. Or maybe he's playing 'rope a dope', which is what I hope to God Trump is doing with his 'bump stock' sop.
Thoughts?
Easy. "Snowflakes." You enter the political arena to strip me of my God-given Constitutional rights i'll call you whatever the hell I want to call you. Capiche?
They hunt with AR-15’s and AR-10s all the time.. 30 round magazines for feral hog hunting is pretty common.
Hopefully, it will wake us up for November.
Yeah, I have to say that I am real darn happy about that vote.
Here we have people who purposely leave their wallet lying on the ground unattended in their driveway. Someone driving by sees it, takes it, they start crying about their wallet being stolen, and demand that politicians ban my car.
I’ve about had it with this crap.
