What’s the point in having elected representatives when the courts just undue everything they legally do.
Monday’s order means a new map is to take effect in the May 15 primary. Republican lawmakers are expected to quickly challenge it in federal court, arguing legislatures and governors, not courts, have the constitutional responsibility to draw congressional maps.
Hope that President Trump is able to reschedule his rally for Saccone asap.
Election is March 13 and he promised to fill an arena for him but had to cancel due to the Florida school shooting.
Saw a poll where Saccone is up only three points over Lamb.
Let's save a crapload of money and simply dissolve the Executive and Legislative branches. /s
PA Republicans need to push this to SCOTUS. I don’t care how long it takes. This has to go to SCOTUS. The courts can just redraw districts. They can reject the gerrymander and make Congress draw again, but they can’t just take it into their own hands and draw the districts.
This is complete bullst.
To give the courts the excuse they need to pass their dictates without it being obvious that they really rule us.
Use the courts to block the changes like the left does.
It puts Scott Perry the incumbent from the north end of the county in some new territory and combines the south end with Lancaster County.
Perry will have more of a fight, but upper Dauphin should offset the Harrisburg left shore.
Law from the bench.
This is the result of the way judges are elected. They crossfile so that voters little idea about the candidates. As a result a Democrat majority on the PA supreme court is going to re-gerrymander the state.
I just learned this evening that the SCOPA’s Judicial-mandering has split York Township between the 10th and 11th Congressional Districts....yes, they have gone down to the Ward and Precinct level in drawing the line!
