The president (Trump), who has been dismissing this attack on our country as a “hoax” and “fake news” for over a year, leapt to defend, not the country, but himself.
“Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President,” he tweeted, dodging the point. (By 2013, Trump had already spent $1 million exploring a potential bid.) “The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong — no collusion!”
Maybe yes. Maybe no. More indictments will come, and we’ll see who among Trump’s inner circle, or Trump himself, is accused of illegal acts.
But right now, there is unarguable neglect if not betrayal going on in plain sight: Donald Trump has ignored — and is dismissing — a real, proven ongoing attack against this country. Instead of mobilizing forces to our nation’s aid, the president, like Benedict Arnold at West Point, has allowed our defenses to crumble.
When Arnold’s treason was uncovered, he fled. Those who trusted him were in shock. They did not make excuses, did not waffle. They accepted the obvious.
“Arnold has betrayed us!” George Washington said, fighting tears. “Whom can we trust now?”
We cannot trust the president, not because of what he may or may not have done in secret in the past, but because of what he is clearly doing or, rather, not doing, right now: defending our country against foreign enemies. We need to thwart a Russian attack on our system of government, and the president isn’t helping.

Hate to break it to them but the enemy is within the gates. It’s the left, deep state, globalist backers, and media.
A couple of thoughts:
1. The people going nuts about “Russian meddling” have lost all sense of perspective
2. By blowing a relatively insignificant threat up to titanic proportions, they are blind to the fact that they have helped the Russians wreak far more damage on our democracy than their actual actions would have been able to on their own. In short, they are the Russian’s accomplices. And I’m not sure they are “unwitting” accomplices.
The enemy was in the White House for 8 years and the Ministry of Propaganda helped him get there.
The founders were right to exclude the children of foreign nationals from the Presidency.
Wow, a leftist that actually knows some history. Mueller is expressing bullshit from all his pores in this indictment. It’s an act of desperation to keep a witch hunt going. The day he indicts Soros for his meddling is when I think of Mueller of nothing more than a Bush appointee that hates populists like Trump.

Somebody correct that title! The enemy are not at the gates. They are high up in the FBI, DOJ, CIA, SCOTUS, Democrat and Republican Parties, etc.
Other indicators the argument is over:
* Calls you “racist” “mysogyinist” or “homophobe” for no apparent reason
* Objects to your “tone”
* Resorts to chanting and carrying a sign
“Steinberg (am admitted recovering alcoholic) compares Trump to the traitorous Benedict Arnold.”
Just curious how him being an admitted recovering alcoholic has anything to do with it?
The worst enemies of America are Democrats, not Russians.

The media started the hate Trump narrative over a year ago and they are the ones continually promoting a (silent)coup.
Not all of course, but democrats, certain media, pro athletes, and celebrities etc., create and promote fake news to rile up more hate. The “hate” meme is out of control and is getting worse. The Florida shooting, and the hate directed at Trump is now one of the more extreme examples.
What “Meathead” tweets here is not only fake but is nothing more than hate without a basis, which does nothing more than rile people up to hate even more. His tweet does nothing more than to promote violence.
POTUS is getting beat up, smeared, and berated relentlessly from all directions. It was disgusting, to say the least, to see and read all this crap as I perused through the websites. I’m reserved but all of this is even getting to me.
The enemy is inside the gates and deeply esconsed in D.C.
