There is a big to-do about American millennials. What do we want to buy? What do we stand for? How do we see the world?
But China has around 400 million millennials, five times more than the 80 million we have in the States born between 1982 and 1998 (now ages 20-36). There are more millennials in China than there are people in the United States and Canada combined.
Yet, when the world talks about China, we often focus on the past: old stereotypes, old politics, old traditions and the older generations. A young generation is coming of age in China that has already begun to lead the nation’s powerful economic and political future. They impact and often define every market they enter — affecting the lives of Americans as much as their fellow countrymen. Whether you’re trying to score a job at your local manufacturing plant, get your kids into college, plan a trip anywhere in the world or sell soda, cellphones or solar panels (and we’re only getting started), this young Chinese generation will impact you personally and professionally over the next half-century.

Most of them are peasants out in the semi-autominous regions of which the majority are semi-literate and infested with all sorts of diseases and parasites. In spite of all the hype about Chinese military prowness their military still can not project power within its own borders much less internationally. And, the U.S. will not in any way shape or form allow itself to become engaged in a shooting war on mainland China. That would be a prayer answered to China’s wildest wettest dream. Just ain’t gonna happen...
American millennials are already learning this lesson; their jobs are being given to INDIAN millennials...
Because they never had a one-child policy, and many already speak English, young Indians will have much more of an impact here in the US.
“Fight” as in “fight against”, or “Fight” as in “use in battle”?
Based on an article posted last week, which described how China was still requiring military-oriented training for that age cadre, they wouldn’t be much of a challenge on the battlefield. They’re not that much better than some of the current US recruits (who are so unfit that the Army is dropping the grenade requirement for graduation, because it takes too long to teach recruits to throw). On top of fitness, the training appears to also be building resentment among Chinese millennials against the current ChiCom regime. 30 years from now, we may see a far less communist China.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say China can’t project power beyond its border. They might not be the threat to the US directly that they make themselves out to be, but to places like India, Nepal, Bhutan, and most of the Southeast Asian countries, they’re a definite threat.
I don’t know. I knew a guy who fought face-to-face against them in Korea, and contrary to what we’re told, they were damn good fighters back then.
As far as China becoming more free, let’s hope so - that is the MOST IMPORTANT factor now in preventing WW3. But the problem the government their is seeing what happens when you do have freedom - gay pride parades, feminists wearing pussy hats, no border control, leaders who hate their own countries. So don’t hold your breath too long on China becoming free - the people running the place are very smart.
While America’s indoctrination mills were creating “social justice warriors” to complain about the world, China’s schools (as well as Japan’s and Korea’s) were creating academic warriors to go out and make a world.

Well,ok; the Chinese can mass huge numbers of troops along the India border. And, if India wants to go toe to toe with them that would be playing right into China’s wheel house. But, beyond that China looses its juice. It just doesn’t have the logistics ability, knowledge, resources, etc, to go on the offense.
I have personally found much to like and admire about the Chinese people I’ve known.
They are very hard working.
They are very family oriented.
They value knowledge and education.
I have no doubt their Millenials will kick our snowflakes’ butts.
And not merely in the Olympics but in real life--if US Millennials don't wake up and come to their senses.
We won't get any pleasure out of watching this tragedy unfold, but saying "I told you so" might take a little bit of the edge off.

US Millennials are stupid.
China had lots of WW2 combat vets in their ranks. Today, like North Korea, they have no combat vets in their ranks. There is more pressure from the military brass to NOT have to use their weapons. If you don’t fight, you don’t fail.
When Chinese students want to go to college in the US, they take the SAT. They skip the English section and cheat on the Math section.
The Chinese government has a lot more to worry about from the Chinese millennial’s in the United States does. Because of their “one child” policy the generation is mostly men and horribly spoiled (by Chinese standards). Imagine what it will be like to be an 80-year-old politician in a country surrounded by 400 million horny, upset men.
