When two teenage girls tried to check in for a flight from Sacramento to New York, American Airlines customer service agent Denice Miracle noticed something wasn't right.
"There were immediate red flags: There was no adult with them; they had no identification; the tickets were one-way and multi-leg; they were booked in First Class; and the credit card used to reserve their seats was in neither of their names. In fact, it was flagged as fraudulent," a press release from American Airlines reads.
The girls were 15 and 17 when they tried to check in for the flight last summer, according to the airline. They seemed nervous and unable to answer the agent's questions.
"I told the supervisor, 'I'm going to call the sheriff. This just doesn't feel right to me,'" Miracle told CNN. "It just did not feel right."

If you SEE something.....call American Airlines. FBI is turning a bling eye.
“This story had a nice ending because of a sharp-eyed agent.”
Yeah, because they were ticket agents, not FBI agents!
That is a rather disgusting line of thought.
Teen girls with two working parents often have a lot of time on their hands, and they can feel flattered when older men take an interest in them. I could see them at the mall or beach when this flashy man driving a hot car comes up to them, gives them compliments, maybe asks them for help finding something, and then says, You know, do you girls like to dance? Just dance around to a pop song? We could sure use you in so and sos new video we are filming in New York. Would either or both of you be at all interested? Call me at this number. Well fly you to NYC free, and pay you $2k each.
Kids that young dont understand enough to see the dangers. It can easily happen. Especially if parents are more keyed in to their offic and social life than to their teens.

15 and 17 year olds don’t need ID. I got my daughter a passport to travel solo on a flight to see friends, and she never had to show it. Fifteen is the minimum age for flying solo.
The aggravating part was that I knew the extra inspection was coming, all the S’s on the pass.
But they called me last.
Stand here, belt off, baggage way over there, turn around (can’t see bag)...
The plane was waiting, but I did not move fast. Too bad.
They could have inspected me and set me aside ahead of time.
Why do I still remember this so clearly from so long ago?
I bet Lee Martell is for real. There are parents in this world who pimp out their children. Just because you do not see it first hand, does not mean it does not happen.
JoMa
I'm confused on that one. I know it doesn't take much for me.
No worse than the Boomers.
That is the most low, vile, despicable comment I’ve probably ever heard on FR. You ought to be ashamed. I cant even imagine what terror and grief those girls’ parents were feeling. Young girls are dumb and naive and are easily preyed upon by pimps and traffickers and easily tricked by people on social media.
Or an FBI agent.
(Was that redundant?)
Dumber than the teenaged (and, yes, even some pre-teens) hippy chicks who ran away to take drugs and become communal whores?
“I cant even imagine what terror and grief those girls parents were feeling.”
I can’t even imagine that these parents had no clue that their teenage daughters were in a California airport. Before they indulge in feelings of “terror and grief”, they might want to revisit their parenting skills.
When I was a teenager, my parents knew exactly where I was every minute of every day.
Thank goodness the travel agent didn’t call the incompetent, corrupt and failed FBI.
I will never call the present Obama/Clinton FBI.
Or we could just make this flight agent Director of the FBI. Im sure it would be a massive improvement.
Hold on, we don’t know he’s wrong. There are indeed parents who pimp out their kids. If all parents were good parents, our entire country would be a different place.
Girls being trafficked for sex generally aren’t given much of a choice after a certain point.
Only a complete moron sends two unaccompanied teenagers to an airport and expects them to get on an airplane. If anybody was an idiot here it was the “sex trafficker.”
Way too LITTLE stuff being told. Did they find out who was at the other end of the flight? I certainly would have been interested if I was investigating. Were the girls American, did they speak English? We may think of them as ditzy Valley Girls (Tie-pod types), but most trafficked people are not Americans.
