If one looks at Russian efforts to disrupt the 2016 election, the purpose of such actions likely differed from the left’s contention that it was to get Trump elected. No one expected him to win, and I doubt Putin had a magic crystal ball that allowed him to see into the future. It makes a lot more sense that the goal was to sow as much dislike of Hillary as possible to undermine her approval to the greatest extent possible. Like all the negativity that’s been showered on Trump since the moment he took office.
That about sums it up.
The law that they broke: Thou shalt not hinder Hillary Clinton in any way, most especially by telling the Truth about her actions.
