Every "election meddling" thing the 13 Russian trolls did would have been perfectly legal if they had disclosed the source of money for ads, and maybe there is some FEC reporting regulation for expenditures.
Other foreign influences, and subversives in the country are a real problem. The effect these Russian trolls had is approximately zero. Heck, the Steele dossier and FBI meddling was more effective than these Russian trolls, and you can bet your bottom dollar the FBI action will not result in any criminal charge beyond a process (lying) crime.
I hope if any democrats say one word about a foreign election and their druthers in it, especially in a Russian one, they are indicted by the Russians for “meddling”.
Turnabout is fair play.
Someone needs to ask Mueller what he thinks about Putin running for reelection.
