I know they were. Doesn’t mean they can act. I saw them on a talk show saying they wanted to break into acting after getting the bite. I thought good for them. Then I saw them act.......Yieks. I went to IMDB.com to see if they have any projects coming up and thankfully they don’t. That does not take away from their “hero” status, but God did not bless them with acting......most people don’t have that gift. I certainly don’t.

I don’t think he will break 10 million this weekend. However, he will make the money back from the movie. His movies typically break 100 million so breaking even is not typical for him. Not to mention all the advertising and other things. He CLEARLY didn’t do this to make money. It was a nice movie that is good for a one-time watch.

From what I have read, Eastwood just wanted them to be themselves. He instructed them not to go to any acting classes. I am excited to see this movie. I know it will be slow at times, but I will have a smile on my face just knowing I am supporting the good in America. Alec Skarlatos is adorable, as evidenced by his turn on Dancing with the Stars. I would love to see him get a shot at acting. I have seen them interviewed. They appear to have no phoniness about them, unlike most of the ‘stars’ I have seen interviewed. They are from Oregon and rough around the edges, but have not been exposed to much of the hierarchy in the world. I would pay money to see them waaaaay before I’d pay any money to Meryl Streep.

I went to see Eastwood’s movie with my husband. We bought the last two tickets side by side in the theater. It was a sweet and exciting movie.

The chart you linked was just domestic. It has done another $8.1 million in foreign sales.

The website has some great info on movie revenue etc. Who knew there have been 720 movies released in the last year.

My calculations on the Eastwood film indicate the combined USA domestic & foreign screen revenue will reach somewhere between 60-70 million USD. Estimating a marketing cost of about $15M USD, Mr. Eastwood will pocket about $15-25M in profit...not a bad return on a $45M invest in movie production and advertising promotion. We shall see, in the coming near future. Based on his past performance and audience loyalty...I”m betting on the one and only, Clint Eastwood!!!

I saw it. It was OK, not nearly his best work. The three heroes from the actual train incident are not actors and it showed.
I didn’t see that, myself. I had no difficulty suspending disbelief.

Wife and I liked the flick.

Thanks. I did miss that. I do want the movie to be a success. Out of 720 movies, I probably saw 10. lol. I used to be a big time movie buff but the last year or so has been pretty crummy. I went to every Oscar nominated movie one year.....I think 2012 (maybe) where Nebraska was up for an Oscar and a bunch of other really good movies. I have not been able to find any group of movies that good since.
