sudents at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High may not have to return to the three-story building that was the site of the deadliest school shooting in Florida history.

The school district has proposed tearing down the building on campus that housed freshmen, Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said Friday. It was the spot where many of the 17 students and faculty were murdered Wednesday by a gunman with an AR-15-style weapon. Former student Nikolas Cruz has been charged with the killings.

“We’ve received numerous requests from parents, students, community members and local elected officials that they would like the building demolished and some memorial resurrected on the site,” Runcie said.

Perchance they protest too much! Lotta money to be had in a new school. Bids, kickbacks, pats on backs, old-boy networks... wink-wink.

Well, wouldn’t that be a feather in the cap of future attention seekers.

AND... would the security budget for the new building be any more than the previous budget?

Virtue Signalling idiocy reaches new low!

On the dumbness scale of Virtue Signalling this ranks right down there with the George Bush promise to raze and replace Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Who do these people want to punish? The killer or the taxpayers?

What would a replacement building cost?

$500 million? $1 billion?

The building isn’t guilty.

The gunman is guilty.

The clumsy and incompetent FBI is culpable.

The anti-gun leftists who won’t allow armed security in schools are culpable.

The same people who think gun-free-zones work are culpable.

Anyone who thinks razing and replacing the school will eliminate evil, assuage their own guilt, or comfort the wounded and dead are fools.

This is classic deep state MO. Same with Sandy Hook, and other ‘shock’ incidents. Bulldoze the school before the forensics people can have a look, nothing to see here. Don’t ask the uncomfortable questions, like why are there a preponderance of these ‘troubled youth’ who ‘heard voices’ in their heads, and they happen to also be on psychotropic drugs? Don’t investigate the conflicting reports. Push the anti gun agenda, and make sure even the Hispanic kid is portrayed as a white Trump supporter. It’s sickening.

Did anyone see the photo of the ‘grieving mom’, who was also photographed at the Las Vegas shooting. Same MO as Sandy Hook. It’s time to WAKE UP y’all.

Sad that while the movie “The 15:17 To Paris” is playing we have a national incident where true heroes are victims because schools are a gun free zone. Like ISIS, school officials propose tearing down a structure to hopefully remove it from history. It should remain standing and we should learn from it, perhaps installing better monitoring equipment and ensuring that all schools have armed and trained personnel within their facility.

Complete denial and gutless pandering. Healing and learning do not take place by hiding what happened. Hiding the truth seems to be the only thing the left has ever successfully accomplished. Just look how well that is turning out.

The first response of Lefties is always to punish the taxpayers.

This sure creates an incentive for those in the building industry to wish for something similar to happen again.

It is verrrrrrrrrry costly to build a school. The money would be better spent with interior remodeling and providing counseling for fellow students and the families of the victims. And the lawsuit defenses.

And don’t forget armed security guards so it doesn’t ever happen again.

The talk shows and the media are busy blaming guns and politicking the incident shifting the blame when they should be furthering the need for student security.

Particularly since there have been examples occurring of such episodes worldwide.

In this facilities case, their security system should be brought to public discussion particularly because this school has a so called “gun free zone”. It does have an officer who may be armed assigned to patrol the multi acre site in a golf cart, but bans guns from the rest of its internal security . Plus examine records reporting how student vs student, and student vs teacher altercations, vandalism, and thefts, which are bound to occur were being dealt with.

Because in an educational unit this size it’s pretty clear their security system failed . In a secure system Cruz would have never gotten inside.

I propose not tearing it down. Instead, build a temporary gallows there, hang the perp and then tear down the gallows.

Why the Hell are people so stupid and pointless?

Maybe after they tear the building down, they can make a giant pile of teddy bears and candles until it catches fire.

1. Control entry to property. Either by vehicle or pedestrian.
2. Observe anyone entering the property.
3. Restrict entry to building both by minimizing where they can enter and for non students times they can enter. Parents who need to take children out of school should call in advance and confirm they will be there.
4. Require student IDs to be worn when first entering the building.
5. Besides armed security guards. Have certain rooms hardened to provide a stay and defend option if evacuation is not possible.
6. In the case of an armed student or intruder incident let students know there will be a code word to let them know if it is safe to evacuate and what route to take.
7. Treat on school incidents that would be criminal off school as crimes and notify LE.

If they do the candles and teddy bears first they might not have to tear the building down after all.
