the florida high school had 5 full time security guys and 2 full time cops - did nothing
the SWAT team and hundred cops that arrived and locked down the place also did nothing for 2 hours
adding armed gov’t employees to schools does zilch to protect the students
2 sworn officers for 4000 students, plus faculty isn’t nearly enough.
One of the security guys tried to intervene and was killed. He was unarmed.
State and local problem, not federal. Besides, do you trust the feds to protect you?
We’re not facing an epidemic of mass murders in schools. We ARE witnessing hysteria, however. This is a local tragedy, being suffered by people in the town of Parkland. Our hearts hurt for them, we pray for their strength and God’s healing grace, but we do not feel what they feel. We will not be there, as they must, after the media moves on. They will find their way through it. One way, or another.
No, the president shouldn’t and can’t do more. There is no “national emergency” on this issue. Just as california wants to govern itself, florida will and should do the same. The governor can take certain steps. Each school district can hire armed security guards to protect the school area, just like every large building in ny city does.
They tried the whole no tolerance policy for students making threats as a response to Columbine, you had early school closings, police action, and then what happened? Another school massacre a few months later, not with as high of a body count, but the whole no-tolerance crackdown simply was short-lived at best. The best thing to do would be for the news media to not give unneccessary fame to the perpetrators if they can.
Ours did the same. Asked my son how the hell would they get out of the 2nd level. I suggested grabbing the fire hose to scale down since they don’t have fire ladders. It was also built right next to an elementary school.

I cannot speak for the police and they action or lack thereof. I don’t know, so I don’t say anything.
But, Aaron Feis was a school security guard who died while shielding others from gunfire as has been reported.
Had he been armed, perhaps this entire situation would be a different story.

Just get the Obama politicized FBI to stop chasing Russians for Hillary and the DNC and start doing real investigative work, like the Parkland FL murderer who was handed to them.

The federal government does not run local public schools nor do we need a national police force over local police forces.

When describing a problem first of all you must describe it. What is causing these frequents acts of shooting and killing on school grounds?
1. There is common knowledge there is no one in the school to stop them. They know it will be like shooting ducks in a gallery and they will not be confronted if they get away before police arrive.
2. It is a proven fact that in all school mass killings, or attempted, the killers were on psychiatric drugs.
Solutions:
1. Arm teachers and administrators and have rapid response plans known and practiced - frequent drills.
2. Develop a national plan to identify the mental cases which without medication would commit such crimes. Then place them in mental institutions. (which we know have been non-existent since the 60’s) Get these pychos off the street.
Instead of sending armed troops to protect our schools, why not send armed troops to protect Chicago.
Far more people are killed there in a month than died at Parkland.
Liberals should like that, right? I can’t think there would be any one issue that could be a dealbreaker, right?
