I propose that a trial effort needs to be done in Los Angeles and San Francisco. All guns banded. No policeman, no body guard, no security agent, no FBI agent, no one allowed to possess a gun of any kind.

Yes, and what they will not bother to tell you is that it was easier in the U.K. to legally acquire and possess handguns before Thomas Hamilton’s 1996 bloody rampage in Dunblane than it was in Chicago, New York City, and Washington DC. Also that police permits to legally acquire shotguns were not required until 1967 in that country; basically anyone could walk into a decent sporting goods store or gun shop in England and buy as many as they liked plus shells and no questions asked. The United Kingdom also executed death row inmates at a rate that would have likely made Texas blush by comparison and that this was done right up until the British government formally abolished the death penalty in 1965.
All of that, particularly when the firearms laws of that country were far more casual compared to the laws outlined in the article, was accompanied by crime and violence rates far lower that what it is in Great Britain today.

Of course overall violent crime in the UK is off the charts. They just do it with knives, machetes, bats etc. The average person is totally defenseless against home invasion etc.
I can guarantee you there are more guns than that in New Mexico with a population of less than 2 million.
