LOL...you must be around my age! :-)

We all listened to great radio shows, then watched some of those same shows on early T.V., but we did NOT watch a lot of T.V.!

We were "social"...played with friends, talked with friends, didn't count "friends" on any machine and we KNEW who our friends were! I think that that alone made a BIG difference.

We also had parents and teachers who demanded that we follow rules! KIDS NEED TO HAVE RULES; OTHERWISE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO/HOW TO BEHAVE!

We also roller skated and road bikes in the street, didn't wear helmets or kneepads, and we didn't wear seatbelts in a car.HOW DID WE MANAGE TO SURVIVE? LOL

What happened? 1973 happened. When a society not only legalizes the killing of the most innocent and helpless amongst them (i.e., infants), but encourages and applauds it, as well, that society is capable of any abomination.

They took prayer out of the schools, and turned away from God...................................... I always said the starting point of our country’s decline was when “Deep Throat” appeared on the Movie theater screens. Hollywood has done more damage to our youth than the God of Hades.

That’s true; however, that still means that the mother is raising boys all alone!

That’s an interesting theory. The 24 hour news cycle makes it much easier for losers to become instant “stars”. A lot of these freaks want to be famous and this is one way to do it. You commit a murder and five minutes later you are ON TV! And Bret Baier is talking about...YOU!

Society said Spanish is bad. But my daddy spanked me, I learned actions had reactions.

The Cleavers no longer exist, they are gone with Ozzie and Harriet, and the new Fathers no longer know anything, The new dads were raised in a cookie cutter education system. The metro sexual male is becoming prevalent, no one wants to be held responsible for their actions, too many want to lay back and be spoon fed. You have age 30+ men today who act like they are still 15. Its like they put something in the drinking water to remove one’s will to do anything. They want the Gov’t taking care of everything while they sit at the starting line waiting for the race to finish so they can get their participant trophy.

Yup.

Also in 1963 we closed majority of state mental hospitals and at same time could not make people take their medications if they needed them.

Perhaps the Charles Whitman “Texas Tower” shooting opened the floodgates. That was August 1, 1966.

I think 1966 was the pivotal, transitional year between Middle American normality & the rise of counterculture -- which after 1968 went on steroids.

Progressives. Progressives have shaped the greater society. That society churns out psychopaths. Sooner or later they crack. We are lucky that many end up in jail, multiple times.

Answer seems simple enough.
Mothers have careers instead of taking care of their kids.
God and praying removed from schools.

Moral decline.

Divorce. Broken families. Fatherless homes. Rampant illegitimacy.

Violence on TV desensitizing children to it.

Lack of discipline in the home.

Lack of discipline at school.

Lack of religion.

Lack of manners and civility.

We are being Balkinized, fractured into many disparate ethnic groups that keep to themselves and distrust other ethnic groups.

Rampant corruption goes unpunished so people are emboldened to take all they can whether it is right or morally wrong.

We are a culture in steep decline and the symptoms are everywhere. There is no putting the genii back in the bottle. Once you are in the grips of a moral decline, there is no way to reverse it. Lazy people don’t want to be told to work. Decadent people don’t want to be told to restrain themselves from indulging in vices. People don’t want to be told to fight temptation rather than give in to it.

As in the days of Elijah, Satan’s plan to draw people away from God has been hugely successful. You can see it in the libs today - so much hate toward anything of God, so much respect for godless mohammedans and communists. As in Elijah’s time a remnant has been preserved that has not and will not bow the knee to Satan. Soon either Jesus will come back or a new Elijah will be revealed to challenge and destroy Satan’s minions.

Doing things that are right, brings on the right outcome. doing things obama’s way.. the way of the left... was dooming us as a nation. They have taken over for to may years and this is what we are living in.

You can argue all you want about everyone’s rights... gay’s rights, etc... and go ahead and make room for all their rights..that’s what the government did.. and smothered out the Christian rights... which produced what you have now compared to what I grew up in when government did not tell us what we had to do and not do.. plus respect for the persons in charge of a class or such.. that person was not like today.. they were all pretty much guided by Christian principals and those work!

Believe it or not, giving rights to the gay crowd, does not produce the outcome you want.. giving rights to the athiest does not prove a good thing... look around and see that the Christian influence is what has been taken out of our society.. like it or not.. light is light and darkness is dark indeed.

Perhaps, but the children of war dead don’t have to deal with the devastating psychological burden of being rejected/abandoned by their own fathers.

As a society we have to put our foot down and say this is no longer acceptable to do to children, if not for basic reasons of human decency, then to protect ourselves from the consequences of fatherlessness.

America was then a homogeneous nation in that people on the left and the right actually shared the same culture. While obvious differences in policy both sides claimed to love America and believe in the contitution. The arguments were over how. All professed to believe in the freedom of speech to resolve debates. What changed is twofold. One is that there is a vast amount of people in America that openly hate the above beliefs and hate America. Second an elite class arose that also could care less about the nation. Fragmented cultures kill themselves until one side triumphs. Hopefully that will be us who still love the nation.

Also, the welfare state destroyed fatherhood. I work in social services and the unspoken elephant behind almost every tradegy I see, and I see a lot in my work every single day, is the lack of a father figure in a child’s life trust me on this one. Also lack of God in the homes. Children raised with the loving wIird of the lord God and fathers in thier lives simply do not become monters.
