I went to Cabo and PV and saw both as sh!tholes. I don’t get the attraction.

I loved the beeches and water in Hawaii. At Cabo, my brother and I were throwing an “Arobie” (A high speed ring version of a frisbee) in two feet of water on the beech. I dropped it in the water and we lost it. Dead serious.

I have no need nor desire to go to Mexico.

My sister and her husband built a 6,500 sq ft house on the west shore of the gulf of California a few years ago. Beautiful place. They just sold it. They are also done with that country.

The early 1990s, you could get a flight out of Peoria, IL at 6am, transfer to Mexican Airlines in Chicago, and be on the beach at your hotel by noon, in Acapulco. The weather perfect, the food great. It was the easiest getaway for retired golfers from Chicago, because the rooms and golf were cheap. The courses were immaculate. I'd stay at the El Camino REal. A really very romantic and cozy 4/5 star hotel, but I always wanted to stay at Las Brisas up on the hill, but couldn't afford it. The rooms started at $300/ night and on up to $600 with your own private pool. They gave you these scooters that were shaped like pink flamingos, and you could see people on these in town shopping. The night clubs were full of young people. We walked to our hotel. In short, it was the ultimate vacation place. Now? The rooms at Las Brisas are under $200. El Camino REal $100. Would love to go there again, but why?

When you look south of our Southern Border, everything all the way down to Tierra del Fuego is one kind of a $hit hole or another, and with minor occasional short-term exceptions, it’s ALWAYS been that way. People are always fleeing from one country to another down there to escape the current tyrant, then back again to flee the new one in their “new home country.” To complete your analysis, you have only to look eastward to South America’s “Sister $hit hole” Continent, Africa, with it’s major boil, The Middle East. Taking it another step, you can add in India, literally the biggest $hit hole country in the world where 48% of its citizens routinely crap in public. But hey cows are sacred there and they $hit outdoors too, so I guess it makes sense to them to do what their sacred cows do!

I spent a lawless booze-filled week in Cancun for spring break back in 1991. It was awesome. My one and only trip to Mexico. No desire whatsoever to go back.

The cruise lines no longer go to Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta because of the danger.

Just imagine how much is lost to the Mexican economy when ships of that size no longer disgorge passengers for a few hours of shopping?

Vicente Fox should be challenged on these facts. He is a total idiot. Someone told me that HE now lives in the USA? Anyone confirm that?
