Nice Airsoft gun he got there. I think we bought one of those for our 12 year old so he could go out and play cowboys and indians with his friends.

And I found a zero cost solution to fix that problem. Take all the crap off the walls at school and kids won’t spend their days looking around and not paying attention.

The idea that the first-person shooter games are not in part responsible for the desensitization of people to this sort of mayhem is laughable.
We can bet that he was addicted to these types of games.
We all understand the shortcomings of the War on Drugs.
I always like to pose, what would they do in the alternative?
Have these poisons over-run our society? Because they will if let them.

Our MCJROTC had a rifle range on campus, and 1st Sgt Daly taught marksmanship as well as respect. All cadets were taught basic marksmanship. BTW we had M1’s to drill with, and also did drill with the bayonet. We also learned how to maintain and clean them,and cadet officers carried 45’s which we learned to maintain and clean. The M1’s were replaced by M14’s in my junior year. They were demilled by having a spot weld over the bolt face where the firing pin was. However replacing the bolt would have made them serviceable again. There were no shootings or range accidents.
In the beginning of WWI (or WWII), the generals found that conscripts were hesitant to shoot at another human. To desensitize them, they went from bullseye targets to human silhouettes. First person shooter games is far advanced from that.
