In Fox’s “Scandalous” I noticed they interviewed Dee Dee Meyers, “former White House Press Secretary.” What they did NOT say is that she was fired because she could not get a security clearance. Way to avoid scandal, Scandalous.
I mentored a young man years ago who had an interim security clearance. I loved working with him. His clearance was jerked over him being in a few fights in high school. I talked with his dad last year and he said he still mentions me for getting his start in life. He moved to Alaska and became very successful. His replacement was a millennial punk, the absolute worse POS I have ever worked with in my whole career.
Ditto.
Gowdy always looks like he just came down off a three day crack high, lol.
Sadly, there was a time when I likely would have believed in the veracity of a sentence beginning with those words, but no longer...
(Not only due to the FBI abuses that have recently been revealed, but going back at least as far as the Scooter Libby trial, where IIRC at least one FBI agent committed perjury under oath without facing consequences, and probably even before that.)
Me too! Wanna bet he really gets to the bottom of this one?
I don’t trust Trey Gowdy for a nanosecond. How many investigations did this vaunted, tireless ex-prosecutor lead on Obama and Clinton misdeeds without one single closing report, no referrals for prosecution and not a damned thing done?
The Office of Security will make a risk based determination when granting an Interim Security Clearance based on preliminary checks. When in doubt, the Office of Security will always side on the side of National Security.
So, if he had an interim, it is on the Office of Security....and if they come up with knowledge that there is reason to withhold the final or stop the interim, it is their job to notify the folks where the person works and also to annotate the electronic system so all security managers who might have cause to allow the person access will know immediately upon doing their verification check that the person is ineligible....
I worked as a Security Manager for a number of years and dealt with regular interims and those that "fell through"...
President Trump would have had a lot more time to worry about such things if the Democrats hadnt spent the entire last year submarining his administration.
“This is precisely why I have reservations about Trey Gowdy.”
It seems like Trey Gowdy is proving daily/weekly he does not have President Trump’s back. Folks need to give up on him.
I’ve got to wonder if Wray’s testimony contradicting the WH and Kelly’s timeline is is a warming to lay off the FBI or worse will be coming.
