My 1997 Expedition is still running strong. Bought it used for $7k twelve years ago. It’s a surprisingly nimble mountain goat for the size. The turning circle is amazingly small and its fun to drive. U-turns are a breeze. I remember back in the day when the 4x4 turning circle penalty was 1.5x whatever the two-wheel drive version had. I guess they fixed that in the nineties.

It’s pushing 200k miles. Maybe I’ll buy the 2026 version if our Democratic overlords allow it.

I loved my ‘04 Eddie Bauer Expedition. The power folding 3rd row seating was great and the tight turning radius was the best. Before buying it we tested th e Tahoe and nearly cut a finger off on the show room trying to let down the 3rd row seats and the salesman told to take them out and leave them out, to which I responded so I can move them around the garage because they’ll always be in my way! Then we test drove an Armada on a snowy/icy road. The auto sensing anti-slip system made a grinding noise every time.
