Jim Jordan: Freedom Caucus won't support joint immigration package with the border wall, DACA
Washington Examiner ^ | Feb 11, 2018 | Naomi Lim

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, was adamant Sunday he would not accept an immigration bill dealing with both increased border security and a pathway for citizenship for so-called Dreamers, or immigrants who came to the U.S. illegally as children.

"I will support a package consistent with what the voters said," Jordan told "Fox News Sunday." "What they want is border security first. Build a border security wall, end the chain migration, get rid of this crazy visa lottery. Sanctuary city policy, get rid of those. Do those things first and then we will deal with the [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] situation."

He added Republicans who backed the immigration proposal being considered by the Senate rather than that of Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., in the House would likely hurt the GOP during the 2018 midterms.

Jordan also defended the Freedom Caucus' relevance after it was unable to prevent the passage of a two-year government funding agreement that is projected to increase spending by $300 billion, blowing out the country's deficit.

"I think we've been the most effective caucus, certainly the most talked about caucus on Capitol Hill the last year and a half and I would argue our chairman, frankly, is probably the member closest to the president, closer than probably any other member in the House or the Senate," Jordan said, referring to Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, R-N.C.

The conservative caucus, which Jordan helped established, was founded in 2015 in part to advocate for less government spending and overreach.

In addition, Jordan slammed House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., for his role in pushing the accord through the two chambers of Congress.

"If there's concerns with the speaker, I think there are big concerns because he just presided over one of the biggest spending increases in the history of this country at a time when we were elected to do just the opposite," Jordan continued. "The swamp won and the American taxpayer lost."

That’s my fear and the guy I helped elect will run around bragging that he made a deal. Because that’s what he thinks we all care about. Making deals and the charade of Congress working together to get stuff done.

And all he’ll be doing is making sure that by 2020, if not this year, that Congress will gradually drift Left, as far as government is concerned, and the country will be lost forever. And, ushering in a good chance that he’ll be impeached. I don’t care what they have in that bill, and we all know it’s going to be bad, the flood of illegals coming over the border, from Africa, from the Middle East and from Asia, will be like nothing we’ve ever seen.

Hell, maybe this has been the plan all along, by the puppet masters.

Unlike most politicians, Pence is a decent man, not so much as a whiff of scandal, very religious. He votes his conscience regardless of the political cost. Why do you think the liberals hate him so much? I cannot understand why you’d call him an “empty suit.”
IDK if he’d be a good president but he was a fine congressman and a successful governor.

Deportations are happening so fast it would make your head spin and have been for a year. ICE is rounding up tons of illegals that already have deportation orders and can be and are deported within hours. Many of those they are gathering up now were court ordered to be deported years ago and have been allowed to stay here. ICE is also gathering up illegals that came here legally and became illegal after they failed to return to their country. Some of them have been here for years illegally as well. VISA overstays that people talk about...yes it is all happening.

The media only reports on the sad cases that might tug at people’s heartstrings and make the government stop enforcing immigration laws.

Previous administration backlogged immigration courts to the point illegals were being given dates years in the future. New deportation centers are being set up, more immigration judges are being hired and that logjam is being cleared so it will be easier to deport illegals that are not currently under deportation orders.

There is a lot going on at the border, and throughout the country- don’t think just because media is not reporting it- it is not happening.

speaking of Iceland - did you know:
The population is only about 320,000?
They have almost -0- birth defects BECAUSE abortion is so prevalent?
They have a lot of “Christians” - Because being a Christian in Iceland means one is registered with the state church ...?

I could go on, but I am not convinced that Iceland has the answers. Unless your perspective is that “a stopped clock is right twice a day”.
