Canadian figure skater Meagan Duhamel is hoping to win a gold medal in South Korea this month - though no prize could be more life-changing than her previous Pyeongchang souvenir.

Not after last year, when the two-time world champion pairs skater brought home Moo-tae - an affable miniature dachshund mix with big ears, bowed legs and the bad luck of being born into the Korean dog meat trade. Duhamel, a vegan and animal lover, helped rescue Moo-tae by accompanying him on his flight from South Korea to Canada last February. The 2-year-old pup has been living with her and husband/coach Bruno Marcotte in Montreal since, spending his days doing yoga with Duhamel and making friends at the local dog park.

Great post, Glenduh. It’s so predictable that this thread would attract all the emotional detached Freepers who pretend to carry a “conservative flag”. Pathetic.

Thanks. Surprised by the moral relativism on this thread. And the jokes.

EXACTLY! ...And they're not "jokes"; They are masked calls for help from emotionally and intellectually stunted and likely friendless nerds who don't know who they are are what they really stand for in life.

His cattle come wrapped on a styrofoam tray.

No kidding cows love their owners and follow them around like dogs. Don’t be late feeding or they will let you know all about it too.

A huge difference however is that in this country we have humane slaughter laws and in S Korea it is widely believed that the longer and more sadistic Premeditated torture is before slaughter, the better the meat. There is no comparison.

Speaking of dogs killed before their time, many are killed in humane societies. I was wondering why people who love their pets are never given the option of transplanted organs for them when they get sick?

(and pigs are said by some to be as intelligent as dogs)

Crows and Ravens may be smarter than dogs or pigs.

Octopuses are said to also have very large brains and possess complex problem solving abilities that are in some cases higher than non-human primates or that of dogs or pigs.

“Eating animals which are traditionally pets, like cats, dogs, and horses, is barbaric.”

I would agree with you unless I was really hungry. Horses are a different matter, they are beasts of burden, just pretty cows and although I’ve never tried it, I’ve heard it’s quite tasty. Horse meat is very popular in Europe and many parts of the world, I’d eat eat it. Bet if I threw a horse steak on the grill and told you it was some exotic game meat you’d like it just fine.

They can but they shouldn’t. Sick bastards, they treat the dogs worse than Michael Vick.

God gave us each animal for a purpose, dogs and cats aren’t meant to be food. Unless you are starving to death eating dog is morally repugnant. Those that don’t agree I would label savages, if that would offend them, good, it’s meant to.

The humanizing of animals is a particularly disgusting trait displayed by liberals.

Life is not a disney movie.
