Oh, yes! The narrative is that Trump is aligned with Nunes, both are hyper-partisan, and the memo is misleading BS propagated to delegitimize Mueller. Therefore bad.
Never crosses their mind the exact same argument exists if "Trump Russia" is BS, and was introduced to delegitimize Trump.
That battle, choosing which of those two narrative is more likely correct, doesn't get settled without reference to outside facts, and one of those outside facts or questions is whether or not the FBI was straight or crooked.
The press isn't curious about this. It has picked the narrative that the FBI is straight and Trump is crooked. When evidence besmirching the FBI comes from Trump or Nunes is further proof that the FBI is straight and Trump is crooked.
But FBI protestations that it is straight must be true, because the FBI is the agency vouching for itself.
The double standard couldn't be more obvious. Gaslighting jerks. Hang 'em.
