"The swampsters are self-deporting!"

I predicted here on FR a while back we wouldn't recognize the House and Senate in 19'. I can't remember if I said 20 to 80 new faces, but 20% of 535 is 107ish, It is possibly not out of the question. LS has noted we have begun to see the Dem's throw in the towel or get sucked into their Sexgate issue....

it’s safe from the dems but not from the RINO’s. 1993 was the last dem in that seat.this is Jim Demint’s old seat. Globalist dollars will dwarf all other spending. Adjacent district was Mulvaney, where the Freedom caucus guy beat a RINO in R runoff by 200 votes despite being outspent. No idea how this will playout. Buy popcorn.

Gowdy was one of the behind the scenes architects of the Gang of Eight immigration amnesty. He was leading the GOP House amnesty supporters in writing their own bill.

South Carolina voters are some of the most clueless in America when it comes to immigration. They probably have the worst elected politicians of any red state.

“Agree completely! He was known as a tough, no-nonsense prosecutor but once he got onto the House Committees, he talked a great game but never came through with any actual results. Never sure if he was hindered by the Dems or compromised by something he himself did!

Will be interesting to see where he goes from here and if he starts talking once he is gone!”

Agreed. It will be very interesting to see where he lands.

Rush pointed out that Gowdy looked like one of the TV talking heads on the panel instead of a guest, and he was probably auditioning for a gig.

Every one of the entire Congressional delegation is a Cheap Labor Express stooge.
You are right, even worse than AZ, they at least have a couple that aren’t.

The insight and sophistication of the FReeper community is hitting new lows.

It used to be that Gowdy’s integrity and lack of emotional partisanship would have been respected at FR.

That’s what the entire Republican party establishment represents! and is most definitely a legitimate concern in SC. RINO’s will outspend any decent conservative. Gowdy got his committee chairs from Boehner and Ryan so he always voted with them on any issues of immigration and cheap labor. He still seems to be among the least evil of RINOs but I have always considered him one of them.
At least we have a couple of Freedom Caucus reps here (Duncan,Norman,Sanford) but i’m not so sure the globalists don’t have their fingers in their wallets too ....Cruz & DeMint campaigned for Norman while Gowdy campaigned for his RINO opponent.

Gowdy would make a very good director of the FBI. Or even a great Attorney General ( Is Sessions moving on?).

I’ve read the story and all the comments and there is something missing: the real reason why Gowdy resigned. Why announce resignation from the Intelligence Committee just at the height of the Nunes memo controversy?

I don’t know the answer, but there was an interesting article a few days ago online (can’t recall which site) saying that Gowdy was the only member of the Committee who actually read the FISA request. Gowdy alone read it and reported verbally back to the Committee on its contents. Therefore, Nunes didn’t actually read the FISA request, he based his memo on Gowdy’s report. Not certain of the significance of this, except it is interesting that Nunes did not actually read the request. If his memo was based on the reading and interpretation of Gody, it is possible that the Nunes memo may have some degree of error in it (my experience is there is a higher probability of errors/ misinterpretations when positions are taken based on verbal data vs written data.)
